NDIS

What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian government initiative designed to provide support and funding to individuals with permanent and significant disabilities. Launched on July 1, 2013, the NDIS aims to offer personalised support to people with disabilities, empowering them to achieve their goals, improve their quality of life, and participate fully in their communities.

The NDIS provides:

  • Personalised Funding: Individuals receive funding based on their specific needs and goals, allowing them to choose the services and supports that best meet their requirements.

  • Access to Services: The scheme facilitates access to a wide range of services, including therapy, assistive technologies, personal care, and community participation activities.

  • Choice and Control: Participants have the flexibility to manage their support plans, select service providers, and tailor their care to suit their unique circumstances.

  • Early Intervention: Emphasis is placed on early intervention to improve outcomes for individuals with disabilities from a young age.
